Not to be outdone by New Brighton, Hoylake now has its own pirate ship too!
The above “pirate boat” is located on the corner of the grass square next to the lifeboat station and although constructed in advance of the Festival of Firsts, she’ll be there for as long as. She’s made from old tree branches, pallets and scrap timber held together with rope (see below), screws and nails and seems pretty sturdy. The pirate ship has been constructed by the same men who built the one in New Brighton.
It looks like I took that snap during dusk one evening, rather than on a sunny afternoon …seems I’m photographically challenged, so apologies for that. Anyways, go down and have a look at it for yourself, or like I did, climb aboard!
